CHALLENGES FACED
Fragmented Collaboration Hindered Advocacy
NajjaDC’s existing platform struggled to unite Nigerian diaspora leaders, resulting in:
-
Siloed communication: Members relied on scattered tools (emails, WhatsApp) for coordination.
-
Inefficient resource-sharing: Critical documents were buried in unstructured folders.
-
Limited public visibility: Stakeholders couldn’t easily track advocacy efforts or join initiatives.
“How might we create a digital hub that bridges Nigerian diaspora leaders globally while amplifying their impact?”

Research & Discovery
How is the problem currently being addressed?
User Interviews:
-
Users rely on multiple platforms (social media, emails, group chats) for updates and networking, leading to scattered information.
-
86% of interviewees are NaijaDC members but lack a central, real-time hub for engagement.
-
Job postings, announcements, and discussions are fragmented.
Survey Insights:
-
Only 3 responses were received, making data inconclusive.
-
This shows that the current communication approach may not be reaching or engaging users effectively.

Information Architecture
To ensure a seamless experience for NaijaDC members and stakeholders, the app map was structured to prioritize accessibility, engagement, and efficiency.
Mapping the Experience
The app map lays out the foundation of the platform, ensuring smooth navigation and logical content flow. Every section was strategically placed to enhance user engagement and accessibility.
Refining for Efficiency
Throughout the design process, adjustments were made to eliminate unnecessary steps and improve accessibility. Key areas like the member hub and advocacy resources were positioned for quick access, reducing friction and enhancing usability.
By prioritizing clarity and efficiency, the structure supports NaijaDC’s mission—connecting, informing, and empowering its global network.
